Abacus Lesson

This course is specially designed for students aged 8 to 12, focusing on a step-by-step approach to help them quickly master the basic techniques of abacus mental arithmetic. Students will enhance their addition and subtraction skills, starting with simple single-digit calculations and progressing to three-digit operations involving carrying and borrowing. By the end of the course, students will be able to perform quick and accurate mixed addition and subtraction calculations using an abacus.

Course Content:

Basic Operations (Sessions 1-2):

• Introduction to the structure and functionality of the abacus

• Learning number representation and basic operational techniques

Single-Digit and Two-Digit Calculations (Sessions 3-5):

• Mastering single-digit addition and subtraction

• Progressing to two-digit calculations without carrying or borrowing

Three-Digit Operations (Sessions 6-10):

• Developing proficiency in three-digit addition and subtraction

• Tackling carrying and borrowing for more complex operations
